A 30-litre mini oven isn't something most people would look at twice, until they realise it can bake a 29 cm cake, roast a whole chicken on a motor-driven rotisserie, handle low-temperature cooking from 80 °C, and do all of this with electronic precision. The BGE 1580/E is aimed at the home cook who wants real oven capability in a compact, countertop format: an ambitious cook in a smaller home, a student who cooks seriously, or anyone who wants a second oven that actually delivers.

What sets this apart from basic mini ovens is the electronic temperature control. The BGE 1580/E lets you set the temperature precisely from 80 °C to 230 °C. At the low end, 80 °C opens up low-temperature techniques like slow roasting. At the high end, 230 °C delivers strong results for baking and roasting.

Eight Functions, One Appliance

The oven covers eight heating modes, giving you meaningful control over how heat is applied. The two combined upper/lower heat modes reach up to 230 °C and are available with or without the circulating air function. The remaining four heating modes top out at 200 °C: upper heat (which also serves as the rotisserie/grill function), upper heat with circulating air, lower heat, and lower heat with circulating air, the latter being the dedicated pizza function optimised for a crispy base. Circulating air distributes heat more evenly around the food, which matters for baking where inconsistent heat produces uneven results. Separate defrost and keep-warm functions round out the set.

For each function, the oven displays a proposal value for temperature and time. This is useful if you're new to a particular mode or just want a sensible starting point without consulting a recipe, particularly for the rotisserie, where guessing at time and temperature is easy to get wrong.

The motorised spit keeps poultry turning for consistent results.

Operation and Cleaning

Controls are via touch keys rather than physical dials or buttons, with a large display showing all active functions at a glance. The interior is illuminated, so you can monitor what's happening without opening the door. The oven chamber has a non-stick coating. The crumb tray is removable, and the double-glazed door with door gasket can be dismounted for cleaning, which is a meaningful practical detail on an appliance you will use repeatedly.

With 4 insertion levels, you can position food closer to or further from the upper element depending on whether you want browning, gentle cooking, or a combination. Overheating protection is built in.

The timer runs up to 120 minutes and sounds an alert when done. A continuous mode is available for sessions that need longer. Standby consumption is ≤0.5 W, and the oven switches to standby automatically after 10 minutes.
