Rommelsbacher CT 3402/IN Double Induction Cooking Plate

The CT 3402/IN is a double-zone, free-standing induction cooking plate with two independently controlled zones and a combined output of 3400 W; zone 1 (left) at up to 2000 W, zone 2 (right) at up to 1400 W. Both zones accept cookware with a base diameter between 120 and 230 mm and support a maximum load of 10 kg per zone on the glass ceramic surface.

Heating times are reduced by up to 60% and energy consumption by up to 50% compared to other cooking methods. Heat transfers directly to the base of the cookware, with the glass ceramic plate itself only warming from residual heat emitted by the pot.

Designed for household and similar environments, it works equally well as an additional hob in the kitchen, as the primary cooking plate in a single-person flat, in a holiday home, office, hotel, motel, or bed & breakfast. It is not designed for commercial use.

Key Benefits:

• Two zones, fully independent. Each zone has its own touch control panel and operates entirely independently. Power level, temperature, and timer are set per zone. Both zones can run simultaneously at different settings.
• Power mode or temperature mode, switchable at any time. Each zone offers 10 power levels (left zone: 100–2000 W; right zone: 100–1400 W) for direct output control, or 10 preset temperature steps from 60°C to 240°C. Switching between the two modes during operation is possible at any time; the last setting in each mode is saved automatically.
• 180-minute timer with automatic switch-off. Each zone has its own timer, settable from 1 to 180 minutes in one-minute increments, or 10-minute increments with a long press. A signal tone sounds on expiry and the zone switches off automatically.
• Operating time limitation. If no setting change is made on a zone for 2 hours, that zone enters standby automatically, regardless of the set level. If the timer is active and set for more than 2 hours, the timer takes priority.
• Pot detection and safety. Each zone detects whether a compatible pot is present before activating. If no pot is detected within 60 seconds of switching on, the zone enters standby. Additional safety features include a per-zone residual heat indicator (activates above 60°C), overheating protection (non-resettable fuse, requires service if triggered), and a pilot lamp per zone.
• Quiet 2-speed fan. The internal cooling fan operates at two speeds with optimized control for very quiet operation. Post-use fan run-on in standby is normal.
• Glass ceramic surface. Rated at up to 10 kg per zone and very easy to clean.
• Low standby power. Rated at ≤0.8 W in standby. The unit enters standby automatically after 60 seconds of inactivity.

Suitable Applications

The CT 3402/IN is suitable for household and comparable settings, including staff kitchens in shops and offices, agricultural holdings, and guest accommodation such as hotels, motels, and bed & breakfasts. It is not designed for commercial use.

Compatibility

Works with all induction-compatible cookware with a ferromagnetic bottom. Both zones accept pot base diameters between 120 and 230 mm. The temperature sensor measures the base of the cookware, so the actual temperature inside the pot may differ from the displayed value. Do not place or operate the unit on ferromagnetic surfaces such as stainless steel worktops, as these can become very hot.
