Rommelsbacher CT 2010/IN, Single-zone induction hob

The Rommelsbacher CT 2010/IN is a portable single-zone induction cooking plate with 2000 W output, touch controls, and an LED display. It works as a standalone cooking solution or as an extension to an existing kitchen setup, and is designed for use in households and comparable settings such as staff kitchens, offices, holiday accommodations, and agricultural environments.

The unit has one cooking zone accepting cookware base diameters from 120 to 230 mm. Two separate operating modes, power level and temperature level, give you control over output. In power level mode, output runs from 100 W (level 1) to 2000 W (level 10) across 10 steps. In temperature level mode, 10 preset steps cover 60°C to 240°C. You can switch between modes during cooking at any time without losing your settings.

The 180-minute timer works in both modes. Once the time runs out, the unit signals with an audible tone and switches to standby automatically. There is also an operating time limit: the plate switches to standby after 2 hours if no settings have been changed, regardless of the active level. The timer overrides this if set for longer than 2 hours.

After switch-on, an internal cooling fan starts to protect the electronics. If the fan continues briefly after the plate is turned off, that is normal behaviour.

Key Benefits:

• 180-minute countdown timer with automatic switch-off and audible signal, usable in both power and temperature mode.
• Automatic pot recognition detects whether a compatible pot is present. If no pot is detected within 60 seconds of switch-on, the unit goes to standby. If a pot is removed during cooking and replaced within 60 seconds, cooking continues at the last set level with the timer running.
• Frameless all-over glass ceramic surface for easy cleaning.
• Residual heat indicator: the LED lights when the surface exceeds 60°C due to heat transferred from the pot, and goes out once the surface drops below 60°C. The standby display also shows a heat symbol above 60°C.
• Standby power consumption of under 0.8 W, with auto-standby after 60 seconds of inactivity.
• Glass plate load capacity up to 10 kg.
• Protection class II

Suitable Applications:

Works with any pot or pan with a ferromagnetic base. The cooking zone accepts base diameters from 120 to 230 mm. Cookware must cover the centre of the zone where the temperature sensor is located; a pot with a flat, not overly thick base produces the most consistent results.

The unit is not suitable for built-in installation and must not be operated on ferromagnetic surfaces such as stainless steel worktops.

Cookware Compatibility:

Compatible materials include cast iron, wrought iron, enamelled steel, and magnetic stainless steel. Ferromagnetic/magnetic base required. Capsule bases (aluminium core with stainless steel exterior) work but should not be used at full power.

Important note: Persons with pacemakers should keep away from induction cooking plates. Interference with hearing aids is also possible.
