Rommelsbacher CT 3420/IN — Double Induction Cooking Plate

The Rommelsbacher CT 3420/IN is a double induction cooking plate with two independently controlled cooking zones. It is designed for anyone who wants to cook on induction without a built-in hob, whether that is in a holiday home, or an office. With a combined output of 3,400 W and a full-surface frameless glass ceramic cooking area, this is a capable daily-use appliance.

Two Zones, Independently Controlled

Both cooking zones are fully independent of each other, which matters when you are cooking two dishes at different temperatures simultaneously. The left zone delivers up to 2,000 W, the right zone up to 1,400 W. Each zone accommodates pans with a base diameter of 120 to 260 mm.

Control is via a modern slider touch control. Each zone offers 10 power levels and 10 temperature settings ranging from 60 °C to 220 °C.

Induction: Heat Generated Directly in the Pan

With induction, heat is generated directly in the bottom of the pot, not in the cooking surface first. This makes it as quick as a gas stove, but safer with electricity. The CT 3420/IN works with all pots and pans that have a ferromagnetic bottom.

Safety Features

Pan detection automatically deactivates a cooking zone when no suitable pan is placed on it. A residual heat indicator shows when the glass ceramic surface is still warm after use, even after the zone has been switched off. Overheat protection is built in via a fuse (non-resettable, see the instruction manual). A child lock function blocks the touch panels against unintended operation.

The 180-minute timer switches off the active zone automatically with an audible signal. After 60 seconds of inactivity the appliance enters standby mode, with a standby consumption of no more than 0.8 W.

Cleaning

The full-surface glass ceramic cooking area has no frame, no raised edges, and no seams where food residue can collect. It is very easy to clean.
