Rommelsbacher FRH 1850 XXL Hot Air Fryer

A versatile XXL air fryer for the everyday kitchen.

The Rommelsbacher FRH 1850 is a hot air fryer with a 7.5-litre frying basket, large enough for up to 1 kg of fries in a single batch. It uses Hot Air Convection Technology for even heat distribution across the cooking chamber, and covers a temperature range from 40 °C to 230 °C, adjustable in 5-degree increments. Ten customisable programmes handle frying, grilling, baking, slow cooking, dehydrating, defrosting, and more, while two additional special functions, Crispy and Preheat, round out the feature set. The housing is stainless steel with an anti-fingerprint coating, and the frying basket and rack feature a PFAS-free ceramic non-stick coating.

Ten programmes, fully adjustable.

The built-in programmes cover French Fries, French Fries XL, Grill, Poultry, Fish, Vegetables, Baking, Slow Cook, Dehydrate, and Defrost. Each programme comes with a default temperature and run time, and most can be adjusted to your own preferences and saved permanently. Run times go up to 60 minutes on the standard programmes, while Slow Cook, Dehydrate, and Defrost support continuous operation up to 16 hours. A shake/turn reminder sounds at preset intervals during programmes that benefit from it, such as fries, poultry, vegetables, grilling, and dehydrating.

Crispy and Preheat functions.

The Crispy function starts immediately at 230 °C for 2 minutes without requiring a separate start confirmation, designed for quick reheating and finishing at full power. The Preheat function heats the entire baking chamber and frying basket to approximately 230 °C in 4 minutes, so you can begin cooking at high temperature right away.

Clear controls and full visibility.

The touch control panel features an LED colour display with programme icons, plus separate sensors for adjusting temperature and run time. A large viewing window on the front of the basket and a switchable interior light (with automatic shut-off after 30 seconds) let you monitor the cooking process without opening the basket. Removing the basket automatically pauses the programme; reinserting it resumes operation.

Built for safe, daily use.

The FRH 1850 is designed exclusively for private household use and is not intended for commercial environments. Safety features include heat insulation, 4-fold overheat protection, and a safety switch. The appliance switches to standby after 2 minutes of inactivity in selection mode, or after 10 minutes in pause mode.

Suitable

The FRH 1850 handles a wide range of food types across its programme set: fries (thin-cut and steakhouse-style), steak, sausages, fresh and frozen poultry, breaded fish, mini pizza, mixed vegetables, baked goods from fresh dough, bread rolls, fruit strudel, yoghurt, and dehydrated foods. The Slow Cook programme (70–90 °C) supports long, low-temperature preparation of up to 16 hours using a suitable container, such as a baking dish or bowl, with a tight-fitting lid. The Dehydrate programme runs from 40–80 °C for thinly sliced foods.

Cleaning

Always unplug the appliance and let it cool completely before cleaning. Wipe the housing and baking chamber with a soft damp cloth (a microfibre cloth works well), with a small amount of detergent if needed. Clean the frying basket and frying rack with hot water, a little washing-up liquid, and a soft dishwashing sponge or brush. Rinse the basket quickly with hot water but do not submerge it. Do not clean the basket or rack in the dishwasher, as dishwasher salts and ionic surfactants damage the ceramic non-stick coating over time. Do not use abrasive cleaners, oven sprays, or scouring pads. Never immerse the base unit in water or clean it under running water. If water enters the front of the basket (window/handle area), allow it to dry for at least one day. Do not use metal utensils, knives, aluminium foil, or aluminium trays in the basket or on the rack, as these can damage the non-stick surface.
