- A second backup thermostat for extra reliability!
We Kenners often hear that the thermostat has failed, and although that repair is simple and cheap, you can probably throw away your expensive meat and maybe even cancel your planned dinner. Of course nobody wants that. By applying a second thermostat the chance is considerably smaller that you will be faced with surprises. If the first thermostat gives a malfunction, the second will take over automatically and there is a good chance that the sous-vide process will continue as usual and be completed. Very nice idea!

Electronics and water are not a great mix. That is why the Ziva Sense already has a protection class of IPX7. But water and steam are two different things and steam sometimes comes in places where you don't expect it, especially if it lasts long enough. This has been taken into account in the design of the Ziva Sense: by keeping the most sensitive electronics completely out of the steam range, the chance of malfunctions is considerably reduced.

These floating "steam trapping balls" act as a lid, reduce evaporation of the water by up to 90%, thus saving electricity and keeping the vacuum bags under water.
Simple operation with an accuracy of 0.5ºC
You can easily set the temperature by means of the "scroll wheel" on the front of the device with an accuracy of 0.5ºC. This increases the ease of use and is sufficient for the average home user. However, the temperature is measured and displayed in 0.1ºC. With the intuitive LCD Touch control display you can accurately set the desired duration and temperature, after which the sous-video controller perfectly cooks the food to your liking, time and time again.
